Mize Counseling Services
Who is Mize Counseling Services?

Welcome! I am Amber Mize. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as the owner and director of Mize Counseling Services, LLC.
Over the years, I have learned that counseling can be a scary place for both those new to counseling and those who have seen a therapist before. That fear and anxiety can start before you even make an appointment. That is why it is my goal to assure you that my office is a judgment-free space for all who have been challenged by life in one way or another.
I primarily see individuals who find themselves having difficulty coping with life due to the stressors and demands of life, along with anxiety and depression. Over the years, I have noticed that I see a lot of individuals with ADHD (adults and children). I do not claim to be an expert in this area, but I do have a lot of experience. I also have experience working with mood disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and BPD. I am comfortable working with individuals who identify anywhere along the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I do not provide couples counseling; however, I am more than happy to work with you regarding the issues you may be having in your relationship.
Like most therapists, the technique(s) that I use will be tailored to your needs. I primarily use psychoanalytic, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, strengths-based, and the BLAST Technique. One other technique of special interest is EMDR. I find that EMDR is a much easier way to process trauma; however, it is not the only way. If you want to know more about EMDR, we can discuss this and the appropriateness of its use for you.
I primarily work with adults; however, I keep several spots available for children and adolescents above the age of 8. I accept a large variety of insurance plans, but since each individual plan is different, it is best to check with your insurance to make sure I am in-network. If you do not want to use your insurance or are self-pay, a good faith estimate will be provided to you. I can also provide a superbill upon request.

Hello! My name is Michelle. I am an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, and I work with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and marital challenges, and a wide range of emotional concerns. My style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and nonjudgmental—shaped by a lifetime of travel and exposure to diverse cultures, which has deepened my appreciation for every person’s unique story.
My therapeutic approach blends Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Client-Centered, Attachment-Based, and Experiential modalities. I work collaboratively with clients to explore how early relationships and life experiences have shaped their emotional worlds. Together, we work to build emotional stability, strengthen self-understanding, and foster meaningful, lasting change.
Whether you're navigating personal struggles or relationship dynamics, I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow. I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth. I look forward to connecting and working with you.
